De CS1716A multi-platform KVM-switch is een bedieningseenheid waarmee toegang mogelijk is tot meerdere computers vanaf een enkele PS/2- of USB-console (toetsenbord, muis en monitor). Eén CS1716A kan tot 16 computers bedienen. Tot wel 31 extra switches kunnen in serie worden verbonden, zodat maar liefst 512 computers allemaal kunnen worden bediend vanaf een enkele toetsenbord-monitor-muisconsole. Daarnaast is er een USB-poort op het voorpaneel beschikbaar voor elke computer om op een gegeven moment toegang te krijgen tot eventueel aangesloten randapparatuur.
