B072-016-1-IP
Tripp Lite's B072-016-1-IP KVM Switch is the optimal solution for controlling up to 16 computers/servers locally, from across the room, down the street or around the globe on a network or the Internet.
This KVM switch can be accessed and controlled remotely, so there's no need to travel to the server room or network closet. A Java-based application allows access via web browser from any secure IP connection; a non-browser client that can bypass browser-related Java Security prompts is available.
The B072-016-1-IP uses inexpensive, user-supplied Cat5e/6/6a cabling with Server Interface Units (sold separately) so you can connect computers/servers located up to 100 ft. away from the switch. This switch features dual Ethernet ports; if one fails, the other takes over, keeping remote access uninterrupted. Users can switch easily between the 16 ports using an on-screen display (OSD), hotkey commands or a remote toolbar. Multi-level password protection prohibits unauthorized users from accessing connected computers, and a local user and a remote user can each log on and access different ports simultaneously.
Two serial ports allow control of serial-manageable devices such as IP PDUs, firewalls and routers; individual ports can be assigned to an IP PDU port to power on/off the server connected to that port. This KVM switch is compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems, and provides remote access using a Windows computer. It supports VGA video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz. Heavy-duty steel housing stands up to frequent use.
Virtual Media allows an .iso file to be mounted to a target server and accessed as if it were stored directly on it. Virtual Media data transfer rates up to 12Mbps are supported when using a B078-101-USB2 Server Interface Unit. Other features include RADIUS and LDAP/S authentication, system-sent SNMP messaging and an event log that tracks logins, reboots and network setting changes.
Free NetCommander-AXS Management Software is available to access and control all of your Tripp Lite NetCommander IP KVM switches (B070 and B072 series). From a single interface, you can access server ports on any of your KVM switches, power cycle or power on/off outlets of IP PDUs and manage KVM settings. This software can be downloaded free of charge from the model support page for the B072-016-1-IP.
Features
Saves Space and Money
- Mounts in a standard 19 in. rack
- Inexpensive Cat5e/6/6a cabling lets you locate servers up to 100 ft. from the switch
- Use a Server Interface Unit, B078-101-USB-1 (for USB) or B078-101-PS2 (for PS/2) with each server to be connected with Cat5 cable; use a B078-101-USB2 to support Virtual Media data transfer rates up to 12Mbps
- To convert DisplayPort or HDMI computers to VGA, use Tripp Lite adapters P134-06N-VGA-V2 or P131-06N. Maximum video resolutions using adapters may vary.
IP Remote Access for Fewer Trips to the Server Room
- Control this KVM switch over IP: remote access means there's no need to travel to the server room or network closet
- Java-based application allows Windows computers to control a target server via web browser from any location over a secured IP connection
- A non-browser client is available that allows Windows computers to remotely access the KVM without the need for a browser and without the need to install Java
- 1 local + 1 remote user can access different ports concurrently; up to 5 users can share a single remote session
- Supports both IPv4 and IPv6
The Optimal Solution for Controlling Multiple Computers
Tripp Lite's B072-016-1-IP Cat5 IP Rackmount KVM Switch is the optimal solution for controlling multiple computers and servers from either a local console or a remote location. A single unit occupies a mere 1U of rack space, yet can control up to 16 directly connected computers or 256 remote computers by cascading a second level of switches. Each computer/server can be located up to 100 ft. from the KVM switch using Cat5e/6 cabling, with support for video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. The B072-016-1-IP is compatible with both PS/2 and USB connections and comes backed by a three-year warranty.
Simultaneous Local and Remote Support for 2 Users
The B072-016-1-IP enables control of multiple computers from either a local console or a remote location by offering simultaneous support for one local and one remote user. With simultaneous local/remote support, users can each access a different port on the KVM at the same time.
IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations and equipment reboots from any location using a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software. The B072-016-1-IP also lets you add IP PDU's as devices that can be controlled by the KVM. Users can assign individual ports on the KVM to a PDU port to Power Cycle or Power Off/On the computer/server connected to that port.
The B072-016-1-IP’s dual serial ports connect serial-manageable devices such as PDU's, firewalls, and routers for comprehensive local device management.
Other rich features include dual Ethernet ports to provide redundancy in the event of a crash, SNMP messaging and an event log function that records events that take place on the installation.
Supports Multiple Platforms, Access Virtual Media and Secure Access
The B072-016-1-IP supports PS/2 and USB connections (Tripp Lite B078-101-PS2, B078-101-USB-1 or B078-101-USB2 Server Interface Module and Cat5 patch cabling required, sold separately) and is compatible with most major operating systems (IP remote access not compatible with Mac OS X).
With the B072-016-1-IP, users are provided Virtual Media access, which allows an .iso file located in a Shared folder of a SAMBA or NFS server to be mounted to a Target Server and accessed as if it were directly stored on it. Virtual Media data transfer rates up to 12Mbps (B078-101-USB2 required) are supported.
The B072-016-1-IP incorporates the most advanced 128-bit SSL and HTTPS encryption technologies with three levels of password protection. Remote authentication support is achieved via full-screen graphical OSD with multi-level authentication (Administrator and User) so users can quickly and efficiently manage installations. The B072-016-1-IP supports RADIUS and LDAP/S as well as IPv4 and IPv6 protocols.
