The drive is crush resistant and features a wear-resistant keypad. The physical construction ensures protection against damage while maintaining security. It weighs approximately 0.88 oz and measures 3.1" in height and 0.8" in width.
The datAshur PRO uses a dual PIN system with separate user and admin PINs (7-15 digits). Users enter their PIN via the onboard keypad before connecting to USB. If a user forgets their PIN, an admin can unlock the drive and allow the user to set a new PIN. The keypad is wear-resistant to prevent revealing commonly used keys. After 10 incorrect user PIN attempts, the user PIN is deleted but data can be accessed with admin PIN.
If the admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 consecutive times, the drive's security mechanism will permanently delete the PIN, encryption key, and all data as a security measure. The device will then reset to factory default settings and will need to be reformatted before use. This is part of the brute force hack defense mechanism to ensure data security.
