The IronKey VP50 features FIPS 197 certified 256-bit AES hardware-encryption in XTS mode, protection against BadUSB with digitally-signed firmware, and Brute Force attack prevention. It includes multi-password options (Admin, User, and One-Time Recovery), with both Complex and Passphrase modes. The drive crypto-erases after 10 failed Admin password attempts and locks out User/Recovery passwords after 10 invalid tries. Additional security features include a virtual keyboard to prevent keylogging and dual Read-Only settings to protect against malware.

This IronKey model offers 128GB of storage capacity. It features USB 3.2 (Gen 1) Type A connectivity with maximum read speeds of up to 250 MB/s and maximum write speeds of up to 180 MB/s, providing fast and efficient data transfer capabilities while maintaining secure encryption.

The VP50 supports three password types: Admin, User, and One-Time Recovery. Passwords can be set in either Complex mode (6-16 characters using 3 out of 4 character sets) or Passphrase mode (10-64 characters, allowing PIN, sentences, or word lists). The Admin can enable User and One-Time Recovery passwords and reset the User password if needed. An "eye" symbol feature allows password verification during entry to prevent typos and failed login attempts.

The drive is ideal for business use due to its TAA compliance, FIPS 197 certification, and customizable Product ID (PID) for integration with Endpoint Management software. It offers local drive management for small and medium businesses, allowing admins to configure employee passwords, recover locked drives, and comply with forensic requirements. The hardware encryption and multi-password system provide enterprise-grade security for sensitive data protection.

The IronKey VP50 has a rectangular design with dimensions of 3.1" length, 0.9" width, and 0.5" height. It comes in a blue color finish and features a USB 3.2 (Gen 1) Type A interface. The compact size makes it highly portable while maintaining durability for business use.

The drive has built-in Brute Force attack protection. If a User or One-Time Recovery password is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, that password becomes locked out. More critically, if the Admin password is entered incorrectly 10 times consecutively, the drive will crypto-erase itself as a security measure to protect the stored data.

Both Admin and User can enable Read-Only mode (write-protect) to prevent malware from compromising the drive when used on untrusted systems. This dual Read-Only setting ensures that no unauthorized modifications can be made to the drive's contents. Additionally, the drive includes a built-in virtual keyboard that protects against keyloggers and screenloggers when entering passwords.

The IronKey Vault Privacy 50 Series comes with a 5-year limited warranty from Kingston Technology Company. As a premium business-grade security product, it includes protection against manufacturing defects and technical support for the warranty period.
