O Medidor ATS / Comutador Automático de Transferência da Tripp Lite fornece uma opção de energia redundante para dispositivos de rede com um único cabo. Os cabos de entrada dupla suportam conexões separadas para as fontes de energia PRINCIPAL e SECUNDÁRIA. Se a fonte de energia principal se tornar instável ou falhar completamente, o ATS mudará para a fonte de energia secundária até que a entrada primária seja restaurada e estável. Permite proteção de UPS hot-swappable tolerante a falhas quando usado com um único UPS e proteção de UPS totalmente redundante quando cada cabo está conectado a um sistema UPS separado. Em um ambiente de dois UPS, o cabo de entrada principal deve ser suportado por um UPS de onda senoidal em tempo integral sem tempo de transferência. O processador ATS a bordo avalia constantemente a qualidade da energia em ambas as fontes de entrada para evitar a transferência para a fonte secundária quando não estiver disponível ou de qualidade inferior à fonte primária.
