It provides a simple way to add serial ports to a PC without the hassle of installing a serial card, turning off the PC or configuring IRQs. There's no need for an external power adapter! The USA-49WG draws power directly from your computer via the USB connection
High-Speed Data Transfer and LED Indicators
The USA-49WG's DB9 serial ports support data transfer rates up to 460 Kbps—four times the speed of a standard built-in serial port. Five LEDs (one red, four green) display the status of the USA-49WG's USB and DB9 ports. You can tell at a glance if the adapter is connected to the computer, if the adapter hardware and software are working properly, and which serial ports are currently in use.
