The Opengear ACM7004-2-L Resilience Gateway is an infrastructure management device designed to ensure network uptime at remote locations like branch offices, retail stores, and kiosks. Its primary purpose is to provide always-on gateway access to off-site network devices through cellular connectivity, even during primary network outages. It features Smart OOB™ technology for early issue detection and Failover to Cellular™ capability with 4G LTE support.
The ACM7004-2-L offers multiple connectivity options including: 4 RJ45 RS-232 serial ports (50 to 230,400bps, Cisco pinout), 2 RJ45 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports for primary and failover connections, 4 USB 2.0 console ports, 2 TTL level Digital I/O ports for external sensors, and 2 High Voltage Digital Outputs. It also features dual SIM slots for cellular connectivity with support for LTE-A Pro and HSPA+ networks.
The ACM7004-2-L has compact dimensions of 1.4" height x 5.1" width x 4.7" depth and weighs approximately 1.32 lb. It offers flexible mounting options including rail-mountable, desktop, and rack mount installations. The device comes with a rack mount kit (ear and screw) and rubber feet for desktop placement.
The device includes comprehensive security features such as PCI DSS 3.2 compliance, FIPS140-2 validated module (Certificate #2473), SSL and SSH encryption, stateful firewall, OpenVPN & IPsec support. It also offers multiple authentication methods including TACACS+, Kerberos, RADIUS, LDAP, PAP/CHAP, and local authentication. Additional security features include system event syslog, authenticated NTP, and strong access control mechanisms.
The ACM7004-2-L is designed to operate in diverse environments with specifications including: ambient operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C (-13°F to 140°F), humidity tolerance of 5% to 90%, and non-operating storage temperature range of -40°C to 75°C (-40°F to 167°F). The device features an embedded internal temperature sensor and can send environmental alarm notifications via SMS, SNMP, or email.
