Engineered to Withstand Extreme Movements and Vibrations in Zone-4 Seismic and Industrial Areas
The SR42UBZ4 is engineered for use where extreme vibrations occur like earthquake zones, factories, power stations, construction areas, shipping facilities, warehouses, processing plants, railroads, airports and military installations. The SR42UBZ4 has a heavy-duty, torsion-resistant construction that meets Telcordia GR-63-CORE Network Equipment & Building Systems (NEBS) requirements for Zone 4 Seismic Earthquake Environments, meaning that the enclosure cabinet can withstand extreme movements and vibrations equivalent to the stress of a major earthquake. Even if the SR42UBZ4 is used in an area where earthquakes are rare, the Zone-4 rating is useful in any setting where extreme vibrations and movements produced by vehicles and machinery are common. A textured powdercoat finish provides tough resistance to harsh environmental conditions.

The SR42UBZ4’s massive front-to-rear ventilation capacity meets or exceeds server manufacturer requirements. It also offers full compatibility with a wide range of airflow optimization accessories and cable management accessories. Its integrated baying tabs make it easy to combine multiple enclosure cabinets in rows for data center applications. The SR42UBZ4 offers guaranteed compatibility with all EIA-310-E compliant 19-in. equipment, and is also 100% compatible with today's state-of-the-art hot-aisle/cold-aisle data center configurations.
Secure Access for All Mission Critical Equipment
The SR42UBZ4 is designed to provide a safe, secure installation solution for mission-critical rackmount equipment. Its locking, reversible front and rear doors are perforated to promote efficient airflow, and locking, removable side panels. Locking doors and side panels prevent unauthorized access to installed equipment. The side panels are half size (two per side) for ease of removal and reinstallation. The front door is reversible and the split rear door design reduces clearance requirements for service access so the enclosure cabinet can be placed closer to a wall.
Designed for Simple Equipment Installation
The SR42UBZ4’s front and rear pairs of vertical rails with square mounting holes are adjustable in quarter-inch increments to accommodate equipment depths from 4 to 37 inches. Adjustment is quick and convenient—simply unscrew the rails, slide them to the desired depth and restore the screws. An easy-view depth index ensures consistent rail placement without requiring time-consuming measurements. The rails are capable of supporting up to 3000 lbs. of equipment with included installation hardware and feature square mounting holes. Each rack space within the enclosure cabinet is numbered for ready reference.
Vented Top Panel with Cable Ports Promotes Efficient Airflow and Keeps Cables Organized
The top panel of the SR42UBZ4 is furnished with vents designed to help remove warm air from the enclosure cabinet and draw in cool air by convection. It also supports installation of standard user-supplied case fans. The top panel contains cable routing ports and is designed for quick, toolless removal with no need to disconnect cables. An open bottom facilitates cable access.
Toolless Vertical Mounting Rails Support 0U PDU and Cable Manager Installations
The SR42UBZ4’s two adjustable vertical mounting rails support toolless button-mount 0U installation of compatible PDUs and cable managers. Each rail can accommodate two vertical PDUs or cable managers side by side, for a total of four units per enclosure cabinet. These vertical mounting rails make it easier to route power and cabling to installed rack equipment and are ideal for network switches that have side-to-side airflow and forward-facing ports.
Convenient Grounding System
All components of the SR42UBZ4 are grounded to the enclosure cabinet frame. Front and rear threaded grounding points are provided for connection to the facility earth ground. The removable front and rear doors feature quick-release ground wires.
