A DEEP and WIDE version of our standard 42U SmartRack. The SR42UBDPWD enclosure is 1200mm deep (47.25") compared to the standard 1070mm deep (42"). This extra depth allows for high density equipment installations. It allows extra space for moving the cable management back as well as providing space for mounted equipment that has hot-swap, removable power supplies out the back of the enclosure. It is also 750mm wide (29.5") compared to the standard 600mm wide (23.6"). This extra width allows for high density equipment installations. It allows cable management and PDU mounting off to the sides of the rack in order to keep these items out of the airflow for proper cooling. All features from the standard SmartRacks carry over to these wide racks to allow cross usage of accessories. Meets all enclosure requirements towards PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Compliance.

This premium 42U enclosure cabinet is packed with features designed to simplify rack equipment installations and rack equipment maintenance: extended depth and width, top-panel cable routing ports, perforated doors to promote efficient airflow, adjustable mounting rails, toolless vertical PDU mounting and more. And as part of the SmartRack® family, the SR42UBDPWD is compatible with Tripp Lite's extensive range of rackmount accessories, enabling you to customize your solution to meet any requirement. The SR42UBDPWD ships fully assembled for quick installation and comes with a 5-year warranty.
Optimized for Data Center Applications
The SR42UBDPWD’s massive front-to-rear ventilation capacity meets or exceeds server manufacturer requirements and offers full compatibility with a wide range of airflow optimization accessories and cable management accessories. Its integrated baying tabs make it easy to combine multiple enclosure cabinets in row-based data centers. The SR42UBDPWD offers guaranteed compatibility with all EIA-310-E compliant 19-in. equipment, and is also 100% compatible with today's state-of-the-art hot-aisle/cold-aisle data center configurations.
Extended 48” Depth and 30” Width
With an extended 48-in. depth, the SR42UBDPWD provides the extra space needed for mounting cable management equipment to the back of the rack for improved airflow. The extra space also leaves ample room to service equipment containing removable hot-swap power supplies. Its 30-in. width is larger than a standard 24-in. wide enclosure cabinet to supply extra room for equipment installation and service, along with cable management and PDU side-mounting options to keep items out of the airflow path for proper cooling.
Secure Access for All Mission-Critical Equipment
The SR42UBDPWD is designed to provide a safe, secure installation solution for mission-critical rackmount equipment. It contains locking, removable front and rear doors that are perforated to promote efficient airflow, and locking, removable side panels. Locking doors and side panels prevent unauthorized access to installed equipment. The side panels are half size (two per side) for ease of removal and reinstallation. The front door is reversible and the split rear door design reduces clearance requirements for service access so the enclosure cabinet can be placed closer to a wall.
Designed for Simple Equipment Installation
The SR42UBDPWD’s front and rear pairs of vertical rails with square mounting holes are adjustable in quarter-inch increments to accommodate equipment depths from 4 to 42 inches. Adjustment is quick and convenient—simply unscrew the rails, slide them to the desired depth and restore the screws. An easy-view depth index ensures consistent rail placement without requiring time-consuming measurements. The rails are capable of supporting up to 3000 lbs. of equipment with included installation hardware and feature square mounting holes. Each rack space within the enclosure cabinet is numbered for ready reference.
Toolless Vertical Mounting Rails Support 0U PDU and Cable Manager Installations
The SR42UBDPWD’s two adjustable vertical mounting rails support toolless button-mount 0U installation of compatible PDUs and cable managers. Each rail can accommodate two vertical PDUs or cable managers side by side, for a total of four units per enclosure cabinet. These vertical mounting rails make it easier to route power and cabling to installed rack equipment and are ideal for network switches that have side-to-side airflow and forward-facing ports.
Preinstalled Casters and Leveling Feet Provide Precise Placement
To simplify deployment, the SR42UBDPWD comes with preinstalled casters and leveling feet. The casters allow the SR42UBDPWD to be easily maneuvered into the desired location, where it can then be secured in place by adjusting the leveling feet. The SR42UBDPWD has a rolling load capacity of 2250 lbs., enabling rack equipment to be installed in the enclosure cabinet prior to final deployment. Note: The casters are intended for minor position adjustments within the final installation area only and are not designed for moving the enclosure cabinet over long distances.
