B140-004
The B140-004 transmits a DVI-D Single-Link signal to four monitors up to 200 ft. away using a single Cat5e/6 patch cable. To achieve maximum distance and resolution, use 24AWG Solid Wire Cat5e/6 cable (Tripp Lite's N202-Series). An additional DVI port is provided for the connection of a local monitor. This local DVI port can also be used to daisychain up to 3 units together, allowing for the connection of up to 13 monitors (12 remote, 1 local). Mounting hardware is included that allows the unit to be rackmounted, wallmounted or pole mounted. In addition, up to three units can be mounted in 1U of rack space using a Tripp Lite B132-004-RB 19" rackmount bracket. The B140-002 is compatible with all operating systems, and is plug and play, with no software or drivers required.
Installation is simple. Connect the B140-004 transmitter to a DVI source using a Tripp Lite P561-Series DVI cable (not included). Connect a Tripp Lite B140-series receiver (not included) to each display using a Tripp Lite P561-Series DVI cable (not included). Finally, each remote receiver is connected to an RJ45 port on the B140-004 using a single Cat5e/6 cable.
For longer extension distances, use a B140-1A0 or B140-1A0-WP active receiver unit to extend a 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz signal up to 150 ft., or a 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz signal up to 200 ft..

Further expand the range and number of monitors by using a B140-110 repeater unit. Add up to four remote units (three repeaters and one active receiver) to each channel of the B140-004, for a total of 4 displays per channel. The B140-004 4-port DVI over Cat5 Extender/Splitter Transmitter splits and extends a single-link DVI-D signal to four monitors or projectors up to 200 ft. away over efficient Cat5e/6 cabling. Together with remote receivers (sold separately), it creates an ideal solution for digital signage applications ranging from retail displays to tradeshow presentations. The B140-004 transmitter allows the DVI source to be secure and hidden while delivering a high-resolution signal to distant monitors. The included mounting hardware provides a variety of installation options, and plug-and-play setup makes installation quick and easy. For peace of mind, the transmitter comes with a one-year warranty, is TAA-compliant for GSA Schedule purchase, and is designed according to strict RoHS standards.
Greater Distance—Greater Flexibility
When used with active receivers (Tripp Lite model B140-1A0 or B140-1A0-WP, sold separately), the B140-004 transmitter can extend a 1024 x 768 (60Hz) DVI signal up to 200 ft. or a 1920 x 1080 (60Hz) DVI signal up to 150 ft. When used with passive receivers (Tripp Lite model B140-1P0 or B140-1P0-WP-1, sold separately), the transmitter can extend a 1024 x 768 (60Hz) DVI signal up to 100 ft. or a 1920 x 1080 (60Hz) DVI signal up to 50 ft. It also has a DVI output for connecting a local monitor and/or daisy-chaining up to 3 transmitters together, which allows the DVI signal to be sent to as many as 12 remote monitors + 1 local monitor. For even longer distances and more remote monitors, you can add remote signal repeaters (Tripp Lite model B140-110, sold separately) to the installation.

With no software or drivers to install, the B140-004 transmitter’s plug-and-play setup gets your digital signage up and running quickly. Simply connect the transmitter to the video source and remote receivers, connect the receivers to the displays, and watch as the B140-004 transmitter provides crystal clear resolution. The B140-004 transmitter is compatible with all single-link DVI-D video sources and all computer operating systems.
Cost-Effective Cabling
The B140-004 transmitter and receivers connect to each other with Cat5e/6 cabling, which makes installation even more convenient. Cat5e/6 cabling is readily available and cost-effective, especially if you need to use plenum-rated cabling to meet fire codes for cable runs inside walls or ceilings. For maximum signal integrity, resolution, and distance, Tripp Lite recommends using solid-conductor Cat5e/6 cabling, such as Tripp Lite’s N202-series.
